BC SPORTS HALL OF FAME NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AFTER APRIL 5th, 2010

Due to Phase II construction of BC Place, the BC Sports Hall of Fame is not open to the public. We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused and we look forward to being a part of the BC Place community in 2011. Please keep visiting our website for more details and learn more about our community outreach program.

ABORIGINAL SPORT GALLERY

The Aboriginal Sport Gallery was opened in June 2008. We proudly present the only gallery of its kind in Canada, if not North America. The research compiled to date provides a complex history of sporting events, athletic accomplishments, moments of celebration and participation by the Aboriginal community in British Columbia.
In partnership with 2010 Legacies Now, VANOC, the Ministry of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation, Four Host First Nations, Aboriginal Sport and Recreation Association and the North American Indigenous Games, the gallery recognizes and celebrates the accomplishments and contributions to sport in BC by the Aboriginal Community.

Athletes include track star Angela Chalmers, wrestler Jean Baptiste Paul/Chief Thunderbird, the First Nations Snowboard Team, rodeo cowboy Kenny McLean, current hockey goalie Carey Price, and the 1936 North Shore Indians Lacrosse Team.
