BC SPORTS HALL OF FAME NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AFTER APRIL 5th, 2010
Due to Phase II construction of BC Place, the BC Sports Hall of Fame is not open to the public. We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused and we look forward to being a part of the BC Place community in 2011. Please keep visiting our website for more details and learn more about our community outreach program.
THE MUSEUM, EXHIBITIONS AND GALLERIES
The BC Sports Hall of Fame and Museum’s footprint is 20,000 square feet, comprised of exhibits, galleries, interactive displays and special event space. Boasting over 20 galleries, the stories of sport in BC are told from the early 1800s to the current day. Distinctive for its unique design and interactive displays, the Museum boasts the only permanent galleries in Canada honouring Rick Hansen and Terry Fox, two Canadian heroes who have generated positive public awareness for people with disabilities, the only permanent gallery honouring Greg Moore….and our latest Gallery, the Aboriginal Sport Gallery. In June, 2008, the BCSHFM, in partnership with Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Winter Games, opened a 2010 display for our visitors to celebrate the extraordinary Olympic-related accomplishments of British Columbia’s athletes over the last 90 years. Select displays and artifacts are available for rental through the BC SPORT HERITAGE PROGRAM
